Pahalgam terror attack: Tamil Nadu ENT surgeon shot in neck and stomach battles for life at AIIMS

Shot in the neck and stomach during the Pahalgam terror attack, made to wait at a local eatery as his wife scrambled for help, and having undergone surgery at a local hospital, Dr A Parmeswaran is now at the national capital’s All India Institute of Medical Science, with doctors saying his condition is critical and the family praying he pulls through.
The 31-year-old ENT surgeon from Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu was airlifted to AIIMS on Tuesday after undergoing preliminary surgery at a government medical college in Kashmir’s Anantnag.
Sources involved in his treatment told The Indian Express he has extensive injuries in the intestine and liver, and a fractured humerus in his right arm.

The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) suspended approval for Entod Pharmaceuticals' PresVu eye drops, intended for treating presbyopia. The suspension was due to concerns over unapproved promotional claims suggesting the drops could reduce the need for reading glasses. Entod plans to challenge the suspension in court, asserting that their clinical trials demonstrated efficacy and safety .?

Brigade Ent inks JDA to develop property in East Bengaluru

Brigade Enterprises said that it has signed a joint development agreement (JDA) for a plotted development project in Malur, East Bengaluru, with an estimated gross development value of approximately Rs 175 crore.

The said plot spans approximately 20 acres and offers a total development potential of 0.45 million square feet.

Chandigarh: Queue system brings relief to ENT patients at GMCH-32

The new system features six small screens placed outside each consulting room and a large screen in the ENT department OPD waiting area. These screens display the name and token number of the patient currently inside the consultation room, as well as the details of the next patient in line.

Over the past decade, GMCH-32 has witnessed a significant surge in the number of patients visiting its OPD, with figures increasing by over one lakh. In 2014, the total OPD footfall was 5,22,369, which rose to 6,53,667 in 2024. The general surgery, medicine, and orthopaedics department OPDs experience the maximum rush. On an average day, around 2,200 patients register for various OPDs, with approximately 150-200 visiting the ENT department OPD.
